Jerry Bowyer should be banned from writing about all financial matters.  In fact, we should attach electrodes to his head that provide electric shocks whenever he thinks about anything more financially complex than giving change to customers at McDonalds, because that is the only job he is qualified for.  To top it all off, this douche nozzle has decided to dye his hair blonde while wearing a dark brown goatee.  Someone must have pissed in that gene pool a few thousand years ago, or perhaps his parents were siblings.  Only an incestuous conception could explain the sheer inanity of his drivel.  So what has he done?  Continue reading to find out….

Jerry enlightened us with a editorial piece running on CNBC.  I call it editorial, because to call this news would make my head explode.  This is your typical rightwingnutlickingcuntjob hit piece which asks the “who gives you the right” question about the NBER.  The right wingers love to do this with EVERYTHING…  Who gives you the right to collect taxes… Who gives you the right to have affirmative action.. etc etc etc..  This is essentially white man’s burden on the inverse.  Instead of it being the white man’s burden to spread civilization, it has now become the white man’s burden to deny others access to it’s accouterments.  It is inverted neo colonialism - they made the savages civilized and now their scared of the competition.

The NBER is the agency that recently certified the start of the recession in 2007.  In typical right wing style Jerry decided to call the NBER and speak to a receptionist at the press office.  He glibly points out that the receptionist did not know the history of the NBER. He then goes on to provide a grotesquely inaccurate explanation of how the NBER came to be based on the babbling of someone in the press office.  By simply visiting the NBER website you get a good understanding of who they are; a research organization that is non partizan and privately funded.  That is very important, because allowing a government agency to call a recession would leave that power open to abuse, sort of like George Bush telling America the economy is fundamentally strong up until we had to start burning our bibles for heat.  You can also visit the NBER website to get an understanding of what kind of people are doing the research.  The list reads like a who’s who of global finance.  There are probably more Nobel Laureates in Economics on the NBER researches list than any other organization in the world…  If any research organization on the planet was capable of calling a recession it would be the NBER.  

Jerry is the economic equivalent of a creationist; pick or create a few “controversies”, build a falty case based on your flawed premise, then act like a smug prick when discussing matters of actual importance.  Congratulations Jerry, you’re an asshole.   We must stop the monster that is CNBC….
